Another ghost??

What can I say - I like painting abstract ghost-like figures. Acrylics on 20x60cm canvas.

I'm not too sure about this one. It seems kinda dull to me but my friends all love it.

I'm torn.

napkins and paint = super easy paintings

I found some super cool napkins at our "dollar store" and just loved the colors. Very brown, red, orange and yellow. Warm colors.

Anyways, I peeled away the napkin layers and glued it to a brown canvas (18x24cm with acrylic paint). Then I glued a border using string/rope that frays nicely and voila - two paintings that I like!

I couldn't take a picture without using the flash on my camera. But you do get the basic idea, right??

kitchen "paintings"

I needed some sort of decoration in my apartment kitchen and came up with these three small items. Small canvases (15x15cm), grey and blue paint, dried food items and wire.

They fit very nicely in our kitchen - we have grey doors in our apartment and we both like the color blue.

Close-up shots of two out of the three pieces. I used dried orange slices and dried chilipeppers, glued them on and the wire crisscrosses over the center.

stamp shoe update!

I decided to just paint the rubbery part of the clog (the part that was just so faded and dull compared to the shiny stamps). I think it turned out ok, looks at least alot cleaner than before.

(to see what I mean, see previous post)

Family Portraits

I took some pictures from my computer of me, my parents and my brother and photoshopped them so I could use them as stencils. My parents like colors so I did a popart theme using acrylic paint on three small canvases. I think my brother turned out best but that's just my opinion.

These were super easy to make - just need a good headshot, photoshop program and a printer. It doesn't take more tham 5 minutes to create the stencil!

Shoes!

I love shoes. I love funky shoes.

These wooden shoes belong to my friend. They are still in great condition, just very dull and faded. She loves to travel to I found loads of stamps from all over the world and glued them on. I still need to figure out what I want to do with the black rubber part because compared to the stamps, it looks dirty, dull and faded. But if I have to say so myself - these clogs look awesome with bootcut jeans!

These are my shoes. They used to be brown, boring but very comfy heels. I glued loads of glitter on them and painted the strap and heel black. They have been worn out (a VERY festive night out) and needs some repair but I think that after I give them the final layer of glimmer, glue and paint, they will be fine. I like them. Again, good with jeans!

ghost town

This is NOT my work. I found this picture on the internet (don't remember who the artist is) but I just LOVED the colors and the composition. I let myself be inspired by this piece and came up with my own paintings.

Horrible picture and it's super hard to see the details and colouring. Again, I used acrylics and 2 canvases @ 50cm x 50cm. It was my first work (other than kiddy stuff) where I used a broad range of colors. Colors scared me.

I can't take a better picture because one of my friend's "stole" it. It's wierd walking into her house and seeing my paintings up on the walls.

This is another version I created. Much more soft edges and I used a small canvas - 20cm x 20cm. I personally like this one best.

Ghosts

Pretty simple painting but it was still a challenge due to the size of the canvas. 100cm x 100cm - the biggest I've ever worked with before.

Winnie-the-Pooh

Before anyone starts accusing me of stealing, I just want to make it very clear that I DID NOT come up with these drawings myself. Yes, I found them on the internet and they are NOT my design. But, I did paint them on these four small canvases, using acrylics and outlined the characters using a black marker. They are not that big and fit perfectly in my friend's new nursery.

It's just me

I'm not new to the world of blogs but I am new to the idea of exposing myself through my crafts. Or art. Whatever you want to call it.

I know that using the internet can be hurtful but I'm ready to gain experience using other's opinions. I'll take the bad along with hopefully some good. I'm not a professional and am aware of that. I'm still learning, dabbling in different fields of crafting and finding motivation and inspiration from others. I don't know how often I will be able to update this blog but I hope that having a place to show my ideas to the world will motivate me to keep up with all the ideas I have in my mind.
